Changes to BYU Box Accounts Effective August 18

On August 18,

BYU Box will implement changes to Box Enterprise accounts for all students and staff. In support of BYU data retention policies, we will no longer transfer accounts from box.byu.edu to box.com when you leave the university.

What This Means for You:

- Starting August 18, accounts for employees and students who leave BYU will be deactivated.

- You will have 14 days to access and transfer your personal data once your active role has been removed.

- You will receive an email notification after your role with the University has been removed, reminding you of the 14-day window.

What You Need to Do:

- Move your personal data to a hard drive, other personal storage, or a non-BYU Box account.

- You can create a personal Box account here: Create Personal Box Account.

Note: You must use a non-BYU email address to sign up.

Before You Leave:

- Transfer any departmental files or folders stored in your personal Box account to the appropriate departmental account.

- Please coordinate with your department CSR to complete this process.

If you have questions or need assistance, contact your department CSR or IT support.
